		<description>I&#039;m not sure about modern play theorists. Piaget was a major theorist in play. He saw play as the the means by which the child&#039;s learning comes together and helps the child to make sense of the world. He identified the following stages in play development:
Sensory motor play- (birth to 18 months) using senses and movement
Symbolic play- (18 months to 5 years) -where one thing stands for another
Cooperative play (5-8 years)- using games with rules.
